The most valuable time of the day is the time we take to pray!

Worry changes nothing! (Except maybe our health)

“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” Matthew 6:34

While it’s true that we need to prepare and be prepared, it does absolutely no good to worry. Worry changes nothing! (Except maybe our health).

With or without worry, we will still have to navigate through each day’s trouble on that day. While this seems easier said than done, all things are possible with God. The key is to be “In Christ” and allow the God of all comfort to be with us in every trial.

Include God in everything: Pray

“do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus“.

God’s purpose could be you

I find the book of Esther to be a very interesting story.

Although God is never mentioned by name, we find a great example of how God works through people to accomplish His purposes.

Unbeknownst to most involved at the time, it becomes very evident how several things come together to achieve God’s plan.

In this story, Esther had to make the decision not to be silent. She had to do what was right; this would require she risk her life. Mordecai pointed out if Esther chose silence, deliverance of the Jews would still come, but from another way. Through God’s Providence, we see evil and evil intent converted into justice for God’s people using Esther and Mordecai. (see Esther 1-10)

Who knows today how God is working through our lives to accomplish His purposes. In my mind, as long as we are pursuing good and willing to stand for righteousness, speaking up for Christ, showing our love for Him by keeping His commands, we offer ourselves as servants. Vessels to be used for God’s good purposes even when we never know it. We just can’t be afraid to speak up!

God is Great, God is good, God is love – ALL THE TIME

God is in control

We are extremely blessed to have the Bible. When we study God’s Word, we find those involved in the stories we read know only what is before them. However; We, get to see the plans of God come together over and over as we read through scripture. God has given us 66 books of God-breathed evidence and instruction to help us understand that putting our faith, hope, and trust in God is absolutely the best commitment we can make and share with others, especially those we hold dearest to our hearts.

The evidence we find in God’s Word, our surroundings, and science proves God exists. It proves God is our creator and is everywhere, all-knowing and all-powerful; it proves God is in control!

God’s word gives us comfort in knowing that by following the teachings of the new covenant, we can have eternal life in heaven.

This world is not our home; we are just passing thru

Beauty In The Wake of Storms

There is great beauty in the wake of the storms; the loss of life is horrible, The destruction of property, livelihoods, and displacement of families is heart-wrenching, yet we find great beauty shining through the masses doing all they can to help. It’s in these troubled times that we get to see what’s really at the hearts of most people. They are not concerned with the color of your skin, your beliefs, or how you live your daily lives, no! They come together performing searches, opening their homes, businesses, church buildings, etc. They come to rebuild; they gather and send supplies for storm victims from all over our nation to help out.

In the Wake of Storms, mankind acts with compassion, concern, and love for one another. This is the America of the masses. The America that cares about people, about the well-being of those hurting and in need.

This is where we see America’s greatness and the love we have for one another that’s truly at our very core.

It’s here we see the love of God in and through the people acting in unity.

God First!

Jesus did not pray for compromise!

Jesus did not pray for compromise; He prayed for Unity!

Absolute truth cannot be changed, and Scripture; is absolute truth. Unity is therefore found in accepting this fact and working together to do all things to the glory of God and in accordance with God’s Word.

Unity is obtainable when all Christians recognize the bible as “The Standard” and stop trying to compromise God’s truth. It’s when we try blending God’s will, and ours then call it the truth that division begins.

We have no right to impose our ideas over God’s Word. There is but one King of Kings and Lord of Lords. We are subjects to our creator, not rulers. God created us; we did not create God!

It’s “My Life” I’ll live it like, I want!

“It’s “My Life” I’ll live it like, I want!” What teenager hasn’t made a similar statement. What adult has never said a similar statement? Few, I’m sure. Before COVID-19, when entering worship, someone often handed out a list of prayer requests gathered by those working in prison ministry.

Later, when reading the request before praying for them, I noticed a high percentage of those requests from prisoners were for loved ones. Many seemed concerned about how their absence via incarceration had caused hurt, physical stress, pain, and financial burdens, negatively affecting those that love them: their parents, wives, children, grandparents, etc.

While behind bars, the concern for loved ones seems to be at the forefront of their minds. I don’t know what got these people in prison, but I do know; our actions affect those we love, and we should consider that when we start thinking, “it’s my life, I’ll do what I want.”

No matter what time of life we’re experiencing at this moment, young, old, or in-between, we are examples to those around us, and when we make bad choices, those choices can easily create unnecessary burdens on our loved ones.

Jesus knew what He was talking about when He commanded us to love others as He loved us. Jesus is the ultimate example for our lives, and when he walked this earth, he lived accordingly. If we follow this command to “love others as Christ loved us,” then “living our life like we want to” will mean: living our lives understanding that what we do affects those we love. Regret is avoidable!
