Selfish Desires Obscure the Truth—Peel Them Away

The lines between right and wrong are not blurred at all; they are clear and clean with no shades of gray. The Gray that so many refer to is not gray at all!

No, the area so many want to label gray is simply an overlay of selfish desires. Desires that lead to tolerance and apathy towards wrongful actions. Actions accepted by our society, where very few are willing to stand up for truth and righteousness, very few willing to risk the ridicule that accompanies standing for what is right.

To see the clean lines, we must remove the filthy overlay of selfishness that obscures our vision.

To tolerate everything is to stand for nothing. Peel back the overlay of selfishness, stand firmly for righteousness, and clearly follow the Word of God—for if God is for us, who can be against us?

“do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.” Philippians 4:6-9
